I do wonder what Singh and writers Alex and David Pastor might have done if they had avoided the trite, explosive tropes of an action film for something that actually touched upon the many issues raised by their basic body swap plot Perhaps it would have been more suspenseful had we invested in the characters.
The film-makers eschew any attempt to tackle the deep themes the storyline initially throws up. Reynolds is fantastic as the morally conflicted hero, a fascinating combination of Hamlet and Hulk; and the supporting cast, including Goode, Kingsley and the always engaging Victor Garber, is spot on.
